Cooks Beach provided the perfect course for the Thames Valley Primary and Secondary Schools’ Triathlon last Tuesday 15th March. Waihi East School’s Callum McKain did outstandingly well placing second in the year 5 and 6 boys category (see the photos for the start of their race) and ‘keeping it in the family’ Callum’s brother Aidon placed second in the year 7-8 boys division. Former Waihi East School students who placed highly were Ben Hennessy 1st in the year 7-8 boys, Gemma Walker - 2nd in the Junior Girls and Trav Anderson - 3rd in the Junior Boys.
